Image
T he countdown has began for the most prestigious tournament in the world. Although it’s for boys of age Under 17, it’s a World Cup anyway. India is taking part in the Football world cup for very first time. In few hours time our boys in blue will be moving on the field to show their talent. Whole world has very high exceptions from the hosts. Before they start their 1st match, we must know about the guys representing us at such a high level. THE SQUAD:  The Captain AMARJIT SINGH KIYAM (Midfielder and Captain): The 16 years old guy was elected as a captain by everyone except himself. Such a selfless guy is a leader that we need. An excellent and hard working midfielder has a quality of making sure that his pass will be easily converted to the goal.  KOMAL THATAL(Midfielder):  A guy of 17 has some skills that are rarely seen in a player of his age. He is currently highest goal scorer of Indian side. Scoring against the Brazil must have increased his confid...

Image
F ootball, a sport that is played with maximum madness. A sport that is an emotion at entire different level. This awesome sport has arrived in India. No, we are not speaking about playing football but hosting an important event. India has never been at the centre stage in Football but now the time is changing. After the successful seasons of Indian Super League, India is all set to host Under 17 Football World Cup, 2017. So, it’s a perfect time to say, Football, welcome to India. BATTLE OF EQUALS

Image
W hen it comes to the Cricket, the mood in India suddenly changes. After a historic ‘Whitewash’ series in Sri Lanka, Indians are ready to lock horns with toughest challengers, Australia. A side that has never been too much away from India in rankings. It’s a side that has given difficulty. A side that matches India equally or more. A Series with 5 ODIs and 3 T-20’s, is starting tomorrow. Mark the following dates, because Fantastic Foes are here. When it comes to playing with Australia, it is never enough to perform your best, you need to be better than the best if you want to beat them. The last limited over series between the sides was played in 2016. Australia won ODI series 4-1, whereas India bagged all 3 T-20’s. Somehow Indians could not match standards of Aussies. But the biggest difference this year is venue. Unlike last year when teams played over Australian soil, this year India will be playing at home. Tomorrow the coin will be tossed for the 1 st ODI of th...

THE FEDAL YEAR

Image
S ometimes we experience real joy when we turn back pages of a book just to read our most favourite part. That’s what exactly happened when Two most loved tennis legends came back to their top game. Last year tennis fans would have given away anything to watch their favourite players at the top, this year we got it. The comeback from injury breaks proved just like a fairytale for both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. 2017 is the year when both Federer and Nadal won two Grand Slams each out of all four, dividing it in perfect 50-50. As this has never happened before, fans all over, are calling it “FEDAL SLAM”. But not just slams, the whole year has a mark of Fedal over it. That’s the reason, for the Tennis, it’s a FEDAL YEAR. Since the very start of the year, both players gave us the glimpse of their return and how fabulous year fans will have ahead. In the very first Grand slam of the year, Australian open we were treated with the final between two giants. They had played las...

US OPEN 2017

Image
T he sport of Tennis is majorly outlined in the words like silence or discipline. But now we are heading towards the final grand slam of the year, these words are nor sufficient to define the sport. US Open is always proved more of a rebel tournament in the year full of classic tournaments. When we step in New York suddenly the whole mood of sport changes. Instead of silence during the break, loud music hit the ears. A lot of noise, fun, entertaining crowd and late night matches is something that sets this Grand Slam apart. And it’s time to head to this unique tournament. This year we have seen more and more players leaving the tour in the middle of the year due to injury. This has a huge impact on the last grand slam of the year. Some of the big names are missing US Open this year. The ordeal of players pulling out of the tournament is still going on. World No.2 in Men’s, Andy Murray is latest to pull out of the tournament. Few more top names in the list include, Novak Djoko...

TIME TO STRIKE THE GOLD

Image
G lasgow has set the stage for the war between the shuttlers from all over the world and the World Badminton Championship is in full swing. Indian shuttlers as usual are continuing to display the brilliance of their game. Unfortunately India’s favourite in Men’s singles was stopped in quarter finals by World No.1 yesterday and with this India’s hopes of medal in Men’s singles melted away. But we still have our two champions in Ladies’ Singles, PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal. Both the girls have entered in semifinals last night and confirmed the Bronze but it’s high time for India to change the colour of our medals. The Championship started in the year 1977 and since 2005 it became an annual event except for Olympic year. We are successful in securing at least 1 medal every in World Championship since 2012. After a series of bronzes, Saina Nehwal changed the colour to Silver in 2015 Jakarta games when she finished runner up against Spaniard Carolina Marin. This year we have huge ch...

FAREWELL LIGHTNING BOLT

Image
One Final time 'To Di World' W ith the end of world athletic Championship, career of Usain Bolt came to an end as well. The farewell was nowhere near anyone in the world imagined. The Championships was certainly something worth forgetting for the legend. In his last individual race he was pushed to bronze medal and in 4x100 he faced the worst possible thing when he couldn’t even run. But as he said, what happened in these races doesn’t change much in his elite career. Starting from the World Junior Championships in Jamaica, started the lightning career of Usain Bolt. Winning 1 st Gold in front of home crowd made him a hero in a country where Sprinting is most favourite event. Soon with his running ability, fun loving nature, style and coolness he became crowd’s favourite. And come on who doesn’t like his celebration? That’s the reason no one hates him. That’s the reason world felt disappointed when he came 3 rd in his last individual race but still came out to ch...

But London is getting ready for temperature to go up the new scales when the athletes from all around the world will be hitting the London to participate in ‘Heats’. World Athletic Championships are starting on 4 th and the venue is London Olympic stadium. The Olympic stadium will be packed to it’s full capacity of 60000 as the sports enthusiasts wants to witness their favourite athletes go by. One more reason worth traveling half way across the world is, this Championship will be marked as the last tournament for two legendary athletes world has ever seen. Distance runner Mo Farah and fastest human being Usain Bolt will run in the competitive circuit for one last time. When it comes to distance running there is only one name that pops in our head, Mo Farah. British runner who started winning medals since he ran in juniors. But the turning point of his career came in 2010 and from their he has ende...

PANGA GETS BIGGER

Image
I n last few years Pro Kabaddi has played a big role in promoting our very own sport. Thanks to PKL we re-remembered the names of our national kabaddi heroes and could keep an eye on the future of this game. PKL managed to divert people’s attention back towards Kabaddi. In the 4 seasons so far, we have witnessed many nail biting encounters and brilliant matches. To fulfil our daily dose of excitement and to give us some more kabaddi, Pro Kabaddi is coming back with brand new season. On the 28 th of July, the season 5 of PKL is starting. This season is promised to be bigger and better than earlier seasons. This year 4 new teams will be participating in the contest. Gujarat Fortunegiants, Tamil Thalaivas, Haryana Steelers and UP Yodhas are the new teams. These new teams are the reason we won’t be seeing the team combinations we know. The players were auctioned again and the old teams are shuffled. This will make it hard for players, as they need to escape their old team habits...

WORLD CUP OF CHANGE

Image
S ometimes it may happen that we didn’t do anything wrong, but we still lose. This is exactly what happened in yesterday’s Cricket World Cup Final against England. Ladies you didn’t do anything wrong, just few mistakes you made was the cost of World Championship. You fought like warriors, until the very end. But sometimes experience is all you need in the big stage finals and that is where our young girls fell short. It’s sad we couldn’t win the world cup. Let’s say we won second place instead of saying we lost the world championship. This year’s Women’s World Cup gave us the glimpse of the shinning future of Women’s cricket. Let’s take a look back at our team’s performance and applaud them for their efforts and achievements. After all they have given us moments to cherish. Smriti Mandhana was 1 st star to emerge with 90 against England in 1 st match and 106 against WI in 2 nd match. Defending a low total of 169 runs against Pakistan proved that Indian bowlers are no less st...

BEAST UNDER BEAUTY'S SKIN

Image
H aving lost against Australia at league stage India needed a great performance to beat them in semis. Since the start of the World Cup on 24 th June, she couldn’t score big. 60 against New Zealand remained her best in league stage. But Semifinal was entirely different matter. And this time she rose to the occasion and smashed 171 not out of just 115 balls. All the frustration of not performing to her abilities melted away with this big knock. Harmanpreet Kaur, truly, is the Beast Under Beauty’s Skin. Even before match, Derby was referred as Indian’s ground. India won the toss and elected to bat first. After losing openers for cheap, everything seemed hard for for India, but yesterday was of India’s vice-captain. We lost Mandhana in first over itself and Punam Raut followed shortly afterwards. India was reduced to 35-2. And now it was the turn of  India’s destructive batswomen, Harmanpreet Kaur. After bringing some stability in innings with Mithali Raj, she started with wh...

THE K1N9

Image
F irst match point and a thundering ace. Game, Set, Match and Championship-Mr. Federer. Here we witnessed his reunion with his favourite trophy after the gap of 4 long years. The name R. Federer was engraved for the 8 th time on the most honourable trophy in Tennis. With this title he has extended his tally of Grand Slams to 19, making it insurmountable task for newcomers. That’s why there should be no hesitation in admitting that, Roger Federer is THE KING of this era . If someone would have predicted, after last year’s Wimbledon, that Federer will win Australian Open and Wimbledon in 2017, hardly anyone would have believed it. The thing that seemed almost impossible last year, is reality of this year. When Federer retuned this January, after 6 months away to restore his troubling knee, we got our vintage Federer back. His run so far can be described as nothing but some story from fantasy book series. Since his return he is constantly spinning the clock backwards and redefin...
