US OPEN 2017

The sport of Tennis is majorly outlined in the words like silence or discipline. But now we are heading towards the final grand slam of the year, these words are nor sufficient to define the sport. US Open is always proved more of a rebel tournament in the year full of classic tournaments. When we step in New York suddenly the whole mood of sport changes. Instead of silence during the break, loud music hit the ears. A lot of noise, fun, entertaining crowd and late night matches is something that sets this Grand Slam apart. And it’s time to head to this unique tournament.
This year we have seen more and more players leaving the tour in the middle of the year due to injury. This has a huge impact on the last grand slam of the year. Some of the big names are missing US Open this year. The ordeal of players pulling out of the tournament is still going on. World No.2 in Men’s, Andy Murray is latest to pull out of the tournament. Few more top names in the list include, Novak Djokovic, Kei Nishikori, Milos Raonic and Defending Champion, Stan Wawrinka. As we say the tournament will not stop for anyone and we proceed with those who are playing.
In the women’s draws, the top names will be the centre of attraction. All the eyes will be tracing on how the World No.1, Karolina Pliskova performs. The girl who gives her a tough competition in game standards is World No. 2, Simona Halep. The battle between them for Championship and world No. 1 rank will be a treat to watch. The World No.2 will be starting her campaign with a match against the comeback girl Maria Sharapova. So, the round 1 match won’t be a dull affair either. Another names that cannot be ignored is Wimbledon Champion Garbine Muguruza and Angelique Kerber. They won’t let anyone win easily. But we can expect some other champion than them as well because Women’s draws always proved most unpredictable.

Halep and Pliskova

The Men’s half is affected so much with injury that many potential contenders are watching game from sideline. Still we have Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer playing. The duo gave us back the much loved rivalry this year and are again on the collision course. With both legends in same half of draws, we can expect a semifinal between them. The winner between them will wear the crown of World No. 1 as well. Other than them two past champions, Marian Cilic and Juan Martin del Potro will be seen in the action. With so many top players out, it is really an exceptional opportunity for youngsters like Sasha Zverev and Domnic Thiem to rise. They can make it tougher for older players if they play well.

Nadal and Federer

With all the excitement for the last grand slam of the year we head to the Flushing Meadows. The players are ready and courts are redeveloped. The final showdown is about to begin. It's a time of the year for Asian and European fans to stay awake in the nights to catch the action. It's time for the US Open 2017.
