IT'S WOMEN'S TURN

The work in England is not finished with champions trophy, because the venue holds another BIG event, ICC Women’s World Cup 2017. Women around the world are already here and waiting to kick start World’s greatest chase of being World Champions. Men could not win “Champions ka World Cup”. So, It’s time for Women in Blue to take the baton in their hand and bring highest honour to our country.
The tournament is starting on 24th June 2017. India is playing their first match against host England. The biggest challenge for India and every other team (for that matter) will be Team Australia. The most successful side in the tournament with 6 titles and the favourites. India has never won the tile of World Champions since the initiation of tournament in 1976. The best they did is finishing as Runner-Ups in 2005. But, it’s a new start with better team. The team is currently standing 4th in world ranking.
India is ready to give a tough fight. As Mithali Raj says The first aim for them is to reach the semis. The captain who lead India to the finals in 2005 is leading the team this time as well. Mithali Raj, the captain who never failed to play Captain’s innings and stands at no. 2 in ODI world ranking for her batting skills . She lead India to many wins and is well experienced. Another player of whom all teams are afraid of in the squad, is the big hitter, Harmanpreet Kaur. Her performance in the past, is an assurity that she will rise to the occasion as well. and let’s not forget the world no. 3 bowler Jhulan Goswami. The sure wicket taker and all-rounder. With this awesome trio and every team member to support them we stand string. With this Asian Champions can become World Champions.

The Men in Blue did their best and reached finals but now it’s Women’s turn. We must keep faith in Mithali Raj’s Captaincy and support our women wholeheartedly. The road ahead is difficult indeed, but go ahead girls, the whole nation is behind you. Make us proud. Bleed blue.
