It’s clay season finale and time to head Paris to witness some great tennis battles. 126th edition of Roland Garros is scheduled between 28 May-11June. Even though some of our all time favourite stars are not playing stay poised for grate action.
First let’s take a look at women’s draw. Current world no.1 Kerber’s best performance here is quarterfinal of 2012 and now it’s a chance for her to improve it. Seeded no. 4 this year, Muguruza will be aiming to retain her title. With Sharapova out with ban and Serena Williams on pregnancy break, the possibility of new champion is very high. But it won’t be easy to defend a title or even to win a title as Petra Kvitova, Simona Halep, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Agnieszka Radwanska and many others are fighting for it. But the women’s half is famous for giving new champions many times, we may have a new championship.
On the contrary, in men’s draws, the clear favourite is King of Clay- Rafael Nadal. Returning from injury in very grate form, Nadal has a huge chance of winning back the title after two years. On the down side Roger Federer is not playing just like last year but on up side crowd’s favourite Del Potro is returning this year in Paris. With world no.1 Andy Murray chasing his his 1st french title, Djokovic defending the title, Wawarinka trying to repeat triumph of his 2015 victory, Nadal chasing historic 10th title here and challenging youngsters playing best games of their life, tournament holds some mouth watering encounters. However the potential semifinal line up is, Nadal vs Djokovic and Murray vs Wawarinka, we may witness the upsets like every year.
