ONE DOWN, TWO TO GO
Pic courtsy: Troll Tennis
It
was 3rd Championship point for Rafael Nadal, Albert Ramos-Vinolas was
serving to save the match. A nervous double fault and the tennis records were
changed. “La Decima” was complete.
The result of Monte Carlo Masters
was nothing unexpected, in fact the result all tennis fans hoped for. The whole
tennis world erupted in joy as history was created. With this one win Nadal
became the ever first man in an open era to win a single tournament 10 times.
With this one win he also completed 50 title haul on clay and 29 “Masters 1000”
title. It was a moment of pure joy, as he lifted the very much known trophy
high above his head.
Nadal lost all 3 previous finals
this year on hard court after fighting hard. But this was the 1st
final on clay and The KING of Clay raised above all the others to better his
own records on his favourite surface. After the tremendous amount of hard work
and struggle of first 3 months, this victory was much needed to him and his
fans. In the previous week everyone witnessed the best of Nadal’s game.
Even after winning the crown for 10th time there is no time to relax for Rafa, as the next tournament starts within just 24 hours, in Barcelona. A tournament where the organisers have already renamed the centre court after their greatest and 9 times champion. The court will be called ‘Court Rafa Nadal’ from this year onwards. This year Nadal will be defending his title in this very court.

The upcoming month holds more tournaments on clay and
more titles are up for grab, before we go to Paris for final showdown. The
grand slam of clay is yet another tournament where the Nadal holds 9 crowns and
if keep playing like he did last week there is no stoping him from improving
the number to double digits. One clay court is won and two more to go for La
Decima. So, Rafan around the world keep
your fingers crossed and pray, because our King is rising.
