Their dominance spanned more than two decades, redefining what was possible on the court. When Roger Federer officially announced his retirement from tennis, closely followed by Rafa Nadal, the search got the sense of urgency. What if Novak Djokovic hangs his racquet and we have no one to take their extraordinary legacy ahead? And then there were two… Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. One cool as ice, other fierce as fire. Image Credit: The Wimbledon The year 2024 saw the equal division of 4 Grand Slams between Sinner and Alcaraz. Yet the two hadn’t met in the Grand Slams final. BATTLE OF EQUALS

Image
W hen it comes to the Cricket, the mood in India suddenly changes. After a historic ‘Whitewash’ series in Sri Lanka, Indians are ready to lock horns with toughest challengers, Australia. A side that has never been too much away from India in rankings. It’s a side that has given difficulty. A side that matches India equally or more. A Series with 5 ODIs and 3 T-20’s, is starting tomorrow. Mark the following dates, because Fantastic Foes are here. When it comes to playing with Australia, it is never enough to perform your best, you need to be better than the best if you want to beat them. The last limited over series between the sides was played in 2016. Australia won ODI series 4-1, whereas India bagged all 3 T-20’s. Somehow Indians could not match standards of Aussies. But the biggest difference this year is venue. Unlike last year when teams played over Australian soil, this year India will be playing at home. Tomorrow the coin will be tossed for the 1 st ODI of th...

US Open is always proved more of a rebel tournament in the year full of classic tournaments. When we step in New York suddenly the whole mood of sport changes. Instead of silence during the break, loud music hit the ears. A lot of noise, fun, entertaining crowd and late night matches is something that sets this Grand Slam apart. And it’s time to head to this unique tournament. This year we have seen more and more players leaving the tour in the middle of the year due to injury. This has a huge impact on the last grand slam of the year. Some of the big names are missing US Open this year. The ordeal of players pulling out of the tournament is still going on. World No.2 in Men’s, Andy Murray is latest to pull out of the tournament. Few more top names in the list include, Novak Djoko...

Indian shuttlers as usual are continuing to display the brilliance of their game. Unfortunately India’s favourite in Men’s singles was stopped in quarter finals by World No.1 yesterday and with this India’s hopes of medal in Men’s singles melted away. But we still have our two champions in Ladies’ Singles, PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal. Both the girls have entered in semifinals last night and confirmed the Bronze but it’s high time for India to change the colour of our medals. The Championship started in the year 1977 and since 2005 it became an annual event except for Olympic year. We are successful in securing at least 1 medal every in World Championship since 2012. After a series of bronzes, Saina Nehwal changed the colour to Silver in 2015 Jakarta games when she finished runner up against Spaniard Carolina Marin. This year we have huge ch...
